Qt RSS Reader

A C++/Qt desktop reader that fetches RSS and Atom feeds, manages feed settings locally, and displays articles through Qt's Model/View architecture.

Context

A desktop workflow for following multiple feeds and opening articles in a browser.

What it does

  • Asynchronous feed fetching
  • RSS and Atom parsing
  • feed-name search and editable settings
  • SQLite storage for feed metadata
  • article links that open in the browser

Engineering focus

Fetching, parsing, persistence, and presentation have separate responsibilities. Qt table models connect feed and article data to the interface, while the parser handles common date formats and differences between RSS and Atom.
